We are always keen to show prospective parents around our school. Please contact the school office on 01227 751431 or office@bad.kent.sch.uk to arrange a convenient time.
We have children attending our school who live in Boughton-under-Blean, Dunkirk or the surrounding villages, as well as many from the towns of Whitstable and Faversham. There is no 'catchment area' as it depends each year on the families that apply for a place.
We appreciate parents completing an interest in admissions form whether for admissions into Reception class or In-Year admissions.

Ways to apply:
Parents are required to complete an RCAF form in the Autumn of the year before the child starts school for entry into Reception class the following September. This form invites parents to express three primary school preferences in priority order. Places are allocated in the Spring, letters offering places will be sent to parents by the Local Authority. Following this stage, parents are given the option to appeal if their choices have not been met. At Boughton-under-Blean and Dunkirk Methodist Primary School we have a maximum intake of 30 children into Reception class each year.
If you need advice, call 03000 41 21 21 or email primaryadmissions@kent.gov.uk.
Whenever the school is oversubscribed, the following admissions criteria will be applied in accordance with the KCC Admissions Policy:
1. Children in Local Authority Care
2. Current Family Association – a brother or sister currently on roll at the school at the time of entry
3. Health and Special Access Reasons - children whose health or physical impairment means they have to attend a particular school
4. Geographical (nearness of child to home and access to the school)
For further information on the Primary Admissions process can be found on the KCC Website.
Appeals
If you are unhappy with the school place you've been offered, you can appeal for any of the schools you named in your application. Further information regarding the appeals process can be found on the KCC website.
If your child is already at primary school and you wish to move them to Boughton-under-Blean and Dunkirk Methodist Primary School, you need to apply for an in-year admission place. You should initially contact the school to establish whether we have a vacancy in your child’s year group.
You are invited to ring us to arrange a visit. If you decide you would like a place in a year group for your child, you will need to complete the In-Year application form and return it to us.
There is no guarantee that we will be able to offer your child a place. You should not remove your child from their current school before you have an offer of a place at another school. If the year group is full, we will write to you inviting you to go on our waiting list and give information on admission appeals. For further information on in-year admissions, please visit the KCC website on the link here.
